Oracle Applications Adapter
The Oracle Applicaton Adapter provides the bi-directional, multi-modal, synchronous and asynchronous connectivity to the Oracle Applications. The Oracle adapter supports all the modules of 11.x. Oracle Apps adapter provides connectivity to Oracle applications in many ways ( Multi Modal connectivity).
Following are the interfaces with which OA adapter can interact with Oracle Applications
a) PL/Sql Api, tables and views
Through these OA adapter can consume or produce messages to Oracle Applications.
b) XMLGateway
Oracle Applications provides several pre-seeded business object documents (BODs) that follow the Open Applications Group (OAG) standard. These out-of-the-box implementations of OAG BODs are tightly integrated with Oracle Applications internal workflows and APIs.
c) Custom Queues
Easily create custom interfaces to Oracle Applications, with the built in queuing capabilities of Advanced Queues (AQ).
OA adpaters are based on JCA and provides global transaction control involving two phase commit.
This blog shows how to use Oracle Apps adapter in BPEL to integrate with XMLGateway to produce messages (like PO, Change PO etc) in XMLGateway queue.
a) Drag and drop the Oracle Apps adapter on the reference swim lane. An adapter configuration wizard will open up.
b) Click next in the Step 1
Step 2 :: Enter the name of the service.
3. Provide the value of the connection to the DB instance in which XMLGateway is installed
JNDI Name :: This should be the JNDI name of the connection factory which is defined in the OralceAppsAdapter in the server in at the following location
Home >Summary of Deployments >OracleAppsAdapter > Configuration > Outbound Connection Pools
4. After that Oracle Apps Module Browser opens up from which you can select pre-seeded business object documents corresponding to the transaction for which you want to produce message in the inbound queue of XMLGateway.
5. Click next for the next step.
6. Click Finish in the Step 5.
After this the XSD's and WSDL will get generated in the composite corresponding to the transaction you have selected in the Module Browser.
7. Create an invoke activity corresponding to the partner link that gets generated for the Oracle Apps adapter.
8. Make sure to pass the following values in the header .
<bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.apps.ecx.TransactionType"
expression="'PO'"/>
<bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.apps.ecx.TransactionSubtype"
expression="'PROCESS'"/>
<bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.apps.ecx.PartySiteId"
expression="'site_id'"/>
<bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.apps.ecx.MessageType"
expression="'XML'"/>
<bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.apps.ecx.MessageStandard"
expression="'OAG'"/>
<bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.apps.ecx.DocumentNumber"
variable="inputVariable" part="payload"
expression="'123'"/>
